Hebrides Bothy Facilities
No matter the weather, the Bothy offers beautiful coastal views and is fully insulated and heated to ensure a cosy stay, all year round.
Patio doors open out onto the great outdoors and relaxing coastal views while you stay in comfort. The Bothy offers a peaceful retreat, romantic hideaway or a great base for a family friendly adventure break.
For those who want to switch off and relax, we provide board games, card games, a selection of books and binoculars for wildlife watching from the Bothy. Due to COVID-19 cleaning, please let us know if you would like these to be provided for your stay.
For those who want to relax without unplugging, Hebrides Bothy provides Wi-Fi, smart TV with access to Netflix, a built in DVD player, DVD’s, a DAB radio with bluetooth speaker and power points to allow charging for electronic devices.
Cuddle up and relax on hotel quality bedding and luxury duvets and pillows. The sofa bed has a quilted mattress topper to add to your comfort.
Kitchenette facilities include a toaster, kettle, a microwave with convection oven, small fridge with freezer drawer, pans, plates, glasses, champagne flutes, cafetiere and cutlery.
Our heated en-suite shower and bathroom includes hotel quality towels and luxury Hebridean toiletries.
The private garden area has chairs and a picnic table along with a firepit with BBQ grill to let you sit out and enjoy the coastal views and sunsets.
The Bothy offers ample off road, private parking and is located on a main bus route. We welcome cyclists and have access to tools available for those enjoying a cycling holiday around the beautiful, unspoilt islands.
Unfortunately, please note we are unable to accept dogs. The Bothy is located in a crofting village so we are surrounded by livestock making it unsuitable for visiting dogs.

Location
Hebrides Bothy is situated in the grounds of our traditional croft house, which is our home to our family and in the heart of a traditional crofting Lewis village, where Gaelic is spoken.
The Bothy is a special wee spot, which offers a peaceful retreat with panoramic coastal views, located 2miles from Stornoway Airport and 5miles from Stornoway town and its shops, cafes, arts centre and restaurants.
You can walk across the road from the Bothy and within a minute, enjoy a moorland walk with lochs and bird watching, or walk down to Swordale shore, carry on the Braighe beach and explore it's historic Ui Church. Our village has beautiful coastal path walks where sea eagles, dolphins and whales can regularly be seen from the village headland.
We provide private, off road parking along and are on the W5 bus route, which can be caught from the end of the Bothy driveway.
Our local village shop, Buth an Rubha, is a ten minute walk away and can provide guest grocery needs. A new café and local history visitors centre will open in the shop in 2022.
Please bear in mind that this accommodation is in a village setting, in a private area of the grounds of a family home.
